The Golf cabriolet was produced entirely in the Karmann factory after it was Wilhelm Karmann who proposed the idea initially to VW, the cabriolet’s featured Clipper body kits as standard and GTI version was introduced in late 1983.
The special editions will cost a little more and you will pay a premium for something like a Rivage or a Sportline. £10k should see you drive away in a potential show winner, with stacks of history and a favourable odometer reading. Ditto the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, the 2+2 sports coupe from 1955 which combined the chassis and mechanicals of the Beetle with a Karmann body styled by Carrozzeria Ghia of Italy.

The Golf III Cabrio side of the site has been removed. It's domain, cabrio-info.com, now redirects to cabby-info.com. This was many months and hundreds of hours of work.
