After you download the mod and extracted the SCS files , just put them in >Documents>Euro truck simulator 2>mods . After you did that , launch the game , in the "continue game " screen ,you will see on your right side of the screen "Mod Manager" ,click on it to see your mods. The game can read mods in the .zip format as well as .scs format. This would confuse a lot of people, so I'd have to disagree here. When I read this post, I put a zipped file in the Mod folder just to see, and the ETS 2 Profile Edit Page didn't show it.
