VW didn't feel as though there would be sufficient market for the alternative powerplant GTx cars, so we never got the GTD or the GTE. From what I can find online “The Clubsport S version has a larger diameter inlet that matches the stock GTI piping perfectly” according to golfmk7 forums.. looks like on the Clubsport version the piping has a smaller diameter of 2.25" compared to the 2.5” diameter of the GTI and the Clubsport S mufflers.. but I could be wrong.
