That said, the 24-70mm f/4 S often comes with a steep discount when bought in a camera+lens bundle, so cost can come into play, too. Frankly, I wasn't expecting to like the 24-120mm f/4 S. That was clouded by my opinion of the two previous Nikkor 24-120mm lenses in the F-mount, which both had very clear liabilities.
